    Default Purchasing / Costing system for Zen-Cart?

    Hi,

    Has anyone done, or does anyone know about, a purchase order/purchase recommendation system and costing system for Zen-Cart?

    What I'm looking for/interested in is a system where:

    1. You can run a 'recommended reorders' screen, where you can 'select' items to reorder with suggested order qtys, and override the qtys if desired. Logic to 'select' items for reorder may vary for different cart systems, such as prior 'nn' days sales combined with onhand qtys, etc.

    2. Storing of the created 'purchase order' information by manufacturer, for later retrieval in #3 and #4.

    3. A method to print (or email, or to PDF) those PO's by manufacturer with a suitable form.

    4. A method to 'receive' that inventory in, including qty, cost each (so we can store Average cost and Last cost, and update on hand qty.

    5. A report that we can print, selecting to use either Avg or Last cost, showing item #, Description, Qty on hand, 'selected' cost, and total value on hand.

    Anything out there for this?

    AS far as I know it doesn't exist, however there is a way.
    It takes a little extra work when you are inputting products into ZC.
    I have my MS Accounting 2007 program open when I am inputting new products and just add it into there at the same time.
    It is a pain in the ######## but it works.

    Yeah, I could do that too, but I want something "integrated" into the system to eliminate duplicate entry during busy times, and so we know more easily what we need, how much we last paid, etc.

    Agreed, that would be really nice. Wish I had time to try to write a mod for it, but I don't think my todo BINDER (way beyond a simple list) would even allow me to add yet another project to it lol.

    rwment, just curious about how MS Office Accounting is working for you.
    Do you use the Pro or Express version?
    How many inventory items do you have and what are the specs of the computer on which it's installed on?

    I'm currently running a trial version of the PRO version, it has lots of potential and very easy to use, however it's extremely slow at times.

    It works great. I run the pro version because that was the version of office 2007 I have. I have installed on both of my laptops and one of the desktops. The laptop runs a bit slow if I am multitasking like crazy. But it is only a 1.6 gightz with 896 mb of ram.

    You may want to consider openbravo for costing system with accounting and POS. For CRM software, QueWeb just came out and works great.
