    Default Upgrade question

Hi, I am curious about an upgrade from 1.36 to 1.37.

I d/l 1.37 today and as I was looking at each file I notice some of the dates say 2005. My question is do I upload ALL the files for 1.37 and run the upgrade from zc_install?

I want to make the upgrade as smooth as possible.

    Thanks!

Technically ... if you used the templates and overrides properly you should not touch core files and can cleanly upload all files from one version to the next ...

There are some files where you have to touch the core files, but these of course you have kept copies of your changes as well as the originals to see what the differences are ...

I like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com that allows me to compare one version of Zen Cart to another and the default files to my override files to see what changes have been made ...

We recommend that you upgrade a copy of your site and use a copy of your database in a new database and practice ...

There are numerous examples on how to do this that you can find with a search on:
    /new_shop

Some are brief and others quite detailed ...

Regardless of how you do this, backup both your site and database so that you can put everything back when you blow it all to ...

Ajeh: just wanted to thank you for helping me out. I think it went it okay. I don't see any problems and I am still playing around a bit with you. I did a search. Followed your instructions (scared as I was upgrading) and don't see any problems so far. Thanks again!!!
