Shipping Fee and Paypal IPN

I came across an issue with how Paypal processes and displays shipping fee from Zen Cart.

For example: In Zen Cart i have a product that costs $20 and shipping fee of $4.99. This displays correctly in the shopping cart. Then I click on confirm order and get to PayPal site but the PayPal site shows item price $24.99 and shipping of $0.

How can i fix this?

Unfortunately, this is the limit of the IPN method as Zen Cart passes the information but IPN lists as total for item - I think that if you can get express to function that this provides order detail but you need to double check on this and a good place to start is the thread for PPExpress

PayPal IPN does not separate the details.
PayPal Express Checkout does.

Is there any advantages/disadvantages to using Paypal IPN vs Paypal Express? I thought paypal IPN was a better and more advanced option.
