adding more fields like the manufactures field

Hi! I have a toy shop and I would like to have a drop down field added in admin to each product for displaying the age range like there is a field for manufactures so customers can search products by age, is there a way how this can be done?

WEll I am not sure about adding into admin like that but you can do the same thing on the catalog side with using the attributes controller and just create a field called ages, as long as you have a field:ages in your product info then tehy should be able to search for it.

Another way which could take some time depending on how many products you have is to create a catagory called browse by age with a sub category for each age group that you want to define and then just COPY each product into the appropriate age group. You wouldnt have to input all the products again just link them to the right category.
