Default Database Backup Manager - MySQL - "cannot connect through socket" message

    Attn Dr Byte

can you shed some light on the error below, when running the backup?

    - Result code: 2
    - 0 => /usr/bin/mysqldump: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) when trying to connect
    - Failure: The database has NOT been saved

    Thanks Craig

That means that the server's mysql client was not able to connect to the database.

You'll need to talk to your hosting company.

If your database"host" isn't "localhost", this may not be resolvable, and you'll have to rely on phpMyAdmin instead.

    Hi Dr Byte

On a similar note I have a build ongoing on a local WAMP install.

When I try to back up I get the following -

    Can i fix this locally?

    Thanks
    SV

Result code: 1 0 => 'mysqldump" "--host' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
1 => operable program or batch file.
