    Default Phantom Orders???

Dear Zen Cart, a friend of mine who I setup a zen cart online shop for has had orders going through his zen cart but for some reason the indivuals have bypassed PayPal to complete the order.

How is it they can order somthing without it going through PayPal. PayPal is the only payment module I have setup for this zen cart????????

He's worried that there may be a security issue here....

The PayPal infrastructure has been overhauled with a lot of improvements in Zen Cart v1.3.7. And the recent patch for 1.3.7+paypal released last week has some added security to release orders more directly than before.

I would suggest planning an upgrade ... esp since there *have* been a lot of security fixes issued since v1.3.0.1.

There are basic upgrade steps in the /docs folder of the Zen Cart files.

There are tips on upgrading in the "Upgrading" section of the forum.

There are tips on upgrading in the FAQ/Knowledgebase section (see the "Help/FAQ" link at top of page).

It's also worthwhile reading the What's New document in the /docs folder for *each* of the versions you need to upgrade through. You can do them all at once, but each release has some specific things to take note of.

It's not something you do in an hour. You need to plan it and take some time to be sure it's right. It's best if you do it in a staging area to be sure things are good before you do it to the live site.
