Default To comment or not to comment?

So how many people comment their code? I know adding comments is extra lines of code which mean larger files. I'm just curious on what everyone does.

The only people that don't comment code are those that have been coding just long enough to think they no longer need to do it, but not long enough to have had to revisit old code and scratch their heads wondering what the heck the code was supposed to do.

Only too true! I've been programming for over 20 years and still look at code I've written and wonder what I was thinking at the time. Comments can be life-savers when the code is complex or reason for the code is unclear.
