Dropdown won't go away!

Can anyone tell me how to make the dropdown go away on the products pages? I'm workinig with the Wallet Template.

I have already gone to admin>configuration>product lisitng>include product alpha sorter = false.

Also, in the Categories (Menu Items) I can't shut the New Menu Items and New Menu Items off! ARGGGG

The Alpha Sorter is not what you are showing ... that dropdown showing is for the Sort order of products so customers can see them based on how they want to see your products vs your default display order ...

To remove that ... not sure why you would want to ... you would have to edit the file:
/includes/templates/template_default/tpl_products_new_default.php

by copying it to your templates and overrides directory:
/includes/templates/your_template_dir/tpl_products_new_default.php

And commenting out the display the product order dropdown:

require($template->get_template_dir('/tpl_modules_listing_display_order.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/tpl_modules_listing_display_order.php'); ?> 

Changes to:

// require($template->get_template_dir('/tpl_modules_listing_display_order.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'templates'). '/tpl_modules_listing_display_order.php'); ?>

On New Products do you want to turn off the Link in the Categories sidebox or the Centerboxes for the New Products?

My client doesn't want the drop down - so I'll make it go away for them now that you've told me how it's done!

I resolved the New Items and Featured Items issues thru admin?config.

Have I mentioned that I love this forum?

I hope one day that I've learned enough about Zen Cart to actually ANSWER some questions instead of always ASKING questions!
