    Default Issues installing Zencart on a Unix system with Bluehost

    Can anyone tell me what this issue is with this message and how to correct it.

    Warning: require(includes/languages/.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sgnobod1/public_html/zencart/zc_install/index.php on line 31

    Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/sgnobod1/public_html/zencart/zc_install/index.php on line 31

    Many thanks,

    ML

    Unless you've intentionally attempted to set a non-english language during install (and that language hasn't been defined), that should never happen.

    index.php says:
    Code:
      require('includes/application_top.php');
    application_top says:
    Code:
      $language = 'english';
    and returns back to index.php, which then says:
    Code:
      require('includes/languages/' . $language . '.php');
    Perhaps your /zc_install/includes/application_top.php file is blank and needs to be re-uploaded ?
    You may have to get your host involved to find out why a defined variable is showing up blank when an otherwise-functional PHP script is run on their server.

    Ok, I did as you said and you were right the files had 0 kb. SO I overwrote them and tried again. Here is the latest error I have:

    Fatal error: Class 'installer' not found in /home/sgnobod1/public_html/zencart/zc_install/includes/application_top.php on line 33

    New Developments. I noticed that many of the files that are located in the zc_install folder did not upload. so I uploaded the whole folder again and now I can at least get the Zen Cart install window to come up. I will try and install the cart and let you know if i have anymore issues.

    Thanks for the help,

    ML

    Perhaps you need to consider using a different FTP program. FileZilla is known to be very reliable, and free. http://filezilla.sf.net FlashFXP is a good commercial tool.
    Skip less-reliable tools like cuteftp and smartftp.
