    Default Change category link target

    I'm currently trying to change the target of a link within my categories sidebox.

    Instead of the customers being shown the contents of the category (when they click on the link) I would like to forward them to a new page within my site.

    Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Thanks! :)

    You bet. Turn off the categories box and use the EZ-pages module instead.

    Thanks for the reply.

    However I only want one category link to forward to a specific page and the other links to act as normal.

    For example...

    Category 1 Link => Category 1 Page
    Category 2 Link => Category 2 Page
    Category 3 Link => Custom Page
    Category 4 Link => Category 4 Page

    I hope that makes sense! :S

    Than you just need to modify the template for the categories sidebox:

    includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_categories.php

    Make sure to save any changes in your own template folder.

    Thanks for the reply. I've decided not to point this category link to another location. Instead, the information on the page I wanted to display is not going to be displayed in the category description text. I hope that all make sense!

    In a way this is a better solution. Thanks for the advice anyway. :)

    No problem. If nothing else, someone might find the question and answer useful. Good luck!
