Out of stock products showing when they shouldn't be

I've had my zencart up and running for about 2 weeks with no problems whatsoever. However, in the past few days products that go out of stock are remaining on display in the catalog despite the fact that they are set not to display in Configuration > Stock.

The weird thing is that the products that went out of stock BEFORE this problem began are still not displaying (which is correct), but the products that have gone out of stock since then are remaining in the catalog with a "sold out" image in place of the "add to cart" field.

Anyone have ideas about what the problem is? I'd really like to get this sorted out.

What are the other settings in the Admin> Configuration> Stock? The URL with a problem product?

Here are the settings:

Check stock level true
Subtract stock true
Allow Checkout false
Mark product out of stock out of stock
Stock Re-order level 2
Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to 0
Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart 1
Product Quantity Decimals 0
Show Shopping Cart - Delete Checkboxes or Delete Button 3
Show Shopping Cart - Update Cart Button Location 3
Show New Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 1
Show Featured Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 2
Show Special Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 3
Show Upcoming Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 4

And there are a couple of problem items. Here are the two I've noticed:

Any ideas? It's only those two... there are tons of other products in the database that are currently out of stock and not displayed.

The only solution I've found is going into each product's individual admin screen and checking the radio button for "out of stock." I have noticed a pattern, though; it only seems to happen to items for which I've manually edited the stock amount at some point. Not sure if that's the cause, but it's the pattern I've noticed.

When you manually alter the products_quantity to 0 you manually have to alter the products_status ... for the In Stock ...

This setting is only altered by the code during the checkout processes when the products_quantity goes to <= 0 and you have it set to do this ...

So only products with a quantity less than 0 will be affected by the "Products status in Catalog" option?

Only products that are processed via an order where the products_quantity (stock) goes to <= 0 are automatically changed to products_status = 0 or Out of Stock ... providing you have:
Set to true:

Check stock level
Check to see if sufficent stock is available

true
false

And set to 0:

Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to
Show Products when out of stock

0= set product status to OFF
1= leave product status ON

When you are editing a product and set the products_quantity to 0, you have to manually set the products_status to 0 or Out of Stock yourself ...
