Hi folks
Sorry but where do I get the most recent version of this? I've done every search I can think of on this thread and not found it, and found this too http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=411 but it hasn't been updated since 2009. Help!
That is the latest published version (v2.7.3), and it works fine with any version of Zen Cart. V2.8 of Categories Dressing in beta form is attached to post 1542 of this thread, if you want to use that. The one real bug it had only happened in IE7, so is pretty much irrelevant now.
I cannot get rid of the bullets for some reason. They are round black small circles.
I made it list-style: none everywhere on chcategories stylesheet.
They show not only left of categories, but also left of text headings which I've inserted into the categories box.
I am sure I am missing something, but don't know what.
Also, cannot make categories links change color on hover. When I click one, it becomes blue, and then it does change color on hover. But those unclicked are still black and don't react on hover. It was ok before categories dressing was installed, so may be again I am missing something?
Thanks.
Do you still have the regular stylesheet_categories_dressing.css in your folder? If so, that will override some settings from chcategories. You should only have one of them.on chcategories stylesheet.
The rest is really hard to advise on without seeing it live.
ok, thanks.
There are rules in the mod stylesheet to handle hover events. Study the stylesheet, and read the readme's Styling section.
Hi Glen,
I'm just wondering if there's an easy way to change the anchor text that people click, to take them to the individual categories on site. For example, look at www.silkblooms.co.uk:
We have a colour filter set up on the left hand side, below the main categories:
Colour Filter:
-White......-Ivory
-Cream......-Pink
-Peach......-Orange
-Purple......-Red
-Green......-Yellow
-Silver......-Gold
-Brown......-Black
-Tartan.....-Grey
-Aqua......-Blue
For SEO pruposes, it would be so much better is these categories were re-named to "white wedding flowers", "cream wedding flowers, "peach wedding flowers"...... and so on. However, changing the category names will also change the anchor text, in the category tree on the website.
Is there a way to control the anchor text, so it can be different from the category name?
You could do image substitution for the category names, with images containing the text you want. They would have alt tags of the actual category names, which might even be good for SEO...
