Hi,

I'm setting up my store and need to offer a $100 credit incentive to buyers of a specific item - what's the BEST way to do this?

You could setup a Discount coupon and restrict that coupon to just that item.

Set the coupon for $100 (discount of course) and then under the restrictions area, navigate to the product you want it to apply toward. Select that product and click "Allow".

You should be all set.

Sounds like a perfect place for my "Mystery Sidebox". This mod lets you display one content (such as "Get $100 off product *** . Code revealed after log-on.") to the normal not-logged-on "window shopper", then lets you display another content (such as a coupon code) to the logged-in "serious shopper".
It might just help get more customers to at least sign up....who knows, but that's what it was invented for.
