help question Mandotory Directory & File Permission Settings?

Hi, I recently installed ZC on a subdirectory and after configuring everything, I copied the entire store over to my main directory for my live store while retaining a copy in the old directory as a test site for testing new contributions and such.

The problem is that the permissions settings didn't copy over with the files and I now need to go in and reset permissions to make things work (i.e. my bmz and image folder for Image Handler 2).

I was wondering if there are mandatory settings for specific files and directories in order for Zen Cart to run properly? Is there a reference page somewhere with such information?

Thank you in advance for your help.

For the Image Handler contribution you mentioned, look in that contribution's documentation for its recommended settings.

I did- as well as the info linked to. It didn't correct the problem.

    1. Why do you believe you have a permissions problem? Are you encountering some sort of error message?
    2. What symptoms are leading you to ask about permissions?
    3. What *are* the permissions on your files and folders?
    4. What URL would these problems be observed at?
    5. What version of Zen Cart are you using?
    6. What addons/contributions do you have installed?

My designer may be a better source for this info but I think I can answer these questions

    1. Why do you believe you have a permissions problem? Are you encountering some sort of error message?

Because the images I upload in the regular zencart admin work fine and are uploaded at 777. The only problem is with additional images and they are being given 666 permissions which makes the pop-up images invisible.

    2. What symptoms are leading you to ask about permissions?

    See above

    3. What *are* the permissions on your files and folders?

They were at 777 (It was either that way default or the designers set that when they set the site up). My host said it was a security problem and reset the images folder to 755.

    4. What URL would these problems be observed at?

http://augustlately.com (but I've been manually going in and changing the individual image permissions so that they are visible)

    5. What version of Zen Cart are you using?
    1.3.6

    6. What addons/contributions do you have installed?

ty package tracker, image handler 2, not sure what others, my designer would know, but these problems have been happening since before the package tracker was added.
