Rename of zc_install screws everything up...

So, I've done this a million times but for some reason, this one time, I'm having an issue.

Anyhow, I manually install Zen Cart. Everything goes smoothly. FInished Installation, takes me to the main page of my site where I get the red message of how I need to remove the installation directory - this is where I have a problem. I've tried renaming, removing and then when I refresh the page, I get a 404 because it's looking for zc_install/index.php.

If I put the folder back or rename it back to zc_install, it makes me reinstall th e thing all over again. Been through this 4 times - going in circles.

The help documentation is out of date and is referring to some config.php file in a catalog folder which is non-existent - please help.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone has any suggestions of things I should try.

The configure.php file is on the server in:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

NOTE: these files do not come with Zen Cart ... they are created during the installation process ...

If you read through the installation instructions they will tell you that to install Zen Cart you must for either load empty files called:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Or, rename the files:
/includes/dist-configure.php
/admin/includes/dist-configure.php

To be:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

Then set the files to 777 so that they can be written to during the Installation ...

Once installed, these are to be changed to 644 or 444 depending on your server ...

If these files are missing or contain incorrect information, then the installer will try to run as if it is a new installation ...
