Default Created Account without required field

Okay, just started recently with zencart, have three accounts created without problems.

Now, someone managed to create an account without giving a phone number, which is a required field, and the welcome email did not get sent, which has an introductory gift certificate attached, so I need it to go through. I cannot duplicate this situation myself, even with blank spaces in the phone number field...

Anyone have any idea on this?
    Version 1.3.7

    Thanks for any help!

I don't know how - I have cpanel if you are familiar... I checked in the admin section and there is no phone number listed for this customer. I have not spoken with them so I don't know if she put one in or not...

Sorry to tag along but this is happening to me as well.. Customers are able to create an account with no MR/MRS selected and no TELEPHONE field selected and both of them are required.... In the database, it just shows up blank.

I tried to reproduce this and had no success....

After further review, I found out what is causing it. I realized that it is the payment method with PAYPAL....All customers who paid with PAYPAL, their account does not contain gender and telephone number. No wonder I could not reproduce it as I was using the CC payment method.....

Now I just have to figure out why this is happening....

When this happened to me, the person did not actually buy anything, just set up the account, so I don't think that could be the problem on my end.... hmm....?

Perhaps they hit the space bar to do this?

Actually when they checkout with PP or PPEC, they don't need to fill in any account information. PP simply just send the name/address/email info back to ZC to create the account. Therefore, no gender/telephone number has been passed hence these two fields are missing.

I tried to set up an account with the space bar in the field, it wouldn't take it... all I can think of is maybe the customer started to buy something with PP and then changed her mind?... hopefully there wasn't a problem with the PP processing...

Yes, this happens when using Express Checkout -- it is all very normal. And it will happen when the customer logs into PayPal and comes back to your site before completing payment ... whether or not they actually finish placing the order.
