    Default Order Confirmation not being generated.

    Sometime between June 17 & today, order status emails have stopped being generated by my shop. I am currently experiencing other outgoing email issues.

    I am tracking things down with my host (they are not being very helpful ) and they suggest that there is something wrong with my settings.

    The shop has been up and running with no issues for just under a year.

    The email settings are:
    E-Mail Transport Method smtpauth
    E-Mail Linefeeds LF
    Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails false
    Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS false
    Send E-Mails true
    Email Archiving Active? true
    E-Mail Friendly-Errors true

    SMTP Address, Password have been doublechecked to be functional (I logged into the actuall account via cpanel and made sure the quota wasn't exceeded while I was in there)

    Mailhost and Port have all been validated against FAQ at my host.

    I installed the email archive utility and noticed confirmations for recent orders do not appear in the archive (tho I do see confirmations from orders placed over the weekend)

    Test emails generated by the send email tool appear in the email archive, though none have made it out and to their intended recipients (yes I checked the SPAM folder)

    Most telling is when I try to subscribe to the newsletter, I get an unable to connect to SMTP host error - though I can't figure out why the order confirmation emails aren't being generated and held in the archive.


    Anything I'm missing?

    Running Zencart 1.3.0.2 (yes, I know you guys are up to 1.3.7 - my excuse is I'm waiting for 1.4 before I entertain another upgrade - and yes, I implemented the hacker security updates that were recommended a while back).

    FYI - I have tracked this problem down to being related to the other issue I am experiencing on my site.

    My host has somehow made some change affecting the mail transfer on the server. I am setup to use smtpauth (php is not an option as I am not running the most recent version(s) of zencart).

    Whatever the host did has made it so my shop cannot connect the smtp host - for some reason, this prevented the order confirmations from being generated at all.

    I think I may be having a similar problem. My host just moved me to a php5 server (without telling me) and I have spend a few days with the help of Portali who set up the site for me sorting out a temporary fix to get up and running again. Pretty annoyed with the hosting company because even though I am well well under their disk space and bandwidth limits for my plan, they moved me apparently because my site is space and bandwidth hungry. All of their other servers are php 4 and my site was working properly on that system but they say if I request to be moved back, it requires a reduction in the size of my site. What the...!!

    Anyway, even though I can now login and work with my site, order confirmations have suddenly stopped coming to me so obviously something wrong there somewhere - any suggestions where I should look?

    Unfortunately, I think you might have to harass your host.

    Are you receiving any other email?

    My problem was ultimately resolved by my host (SMTP failing to authenticate properly because they were doing some changes getting ready for CPanel 11) - of course, they failed to tell me what exactly got hosed up and they only manged to fix it for me after 4 days!

    I wound up putting in a workaround by using my ISP for mail.

    I would 1) test if you are receiving any other mail - try sending yourself a message from your contact us page and 2) if not, see if you can connect to your SMTP mail server via a remote mail client - if you are unable to do so, you may have a problem with the SMTP host...

    I am having same problem and am using newest version on zencart

    Contact us or order e-mails not comming though .. Started about the same time as you ..

    what do I do ?

    I presume these functions were working previously - and you have not made any changes. Have you contacted your Webhost yet to see what changes they have made on their end?

    Well I tried what you said and run around in small circles .. Got a bit dizzy though .. lol ..

    I have sent an e-mail to the guys in the datacenter waiting for replay

    My e-mail's were working fine till a couple of days ago didn't change anything and they went and stopped

    I have got them to work at the moment

    this may sound silly but I changed my e-mail address from name AT emailaddress DOT com to name<name AT address DOT com>

    and knock on wood it seems to be working

    :) well that is certainly strange, but I'm glad it's working again - cuz that's what counts ;)

    Did you change it that way through the zen admin through phpmyadmin?

    from the admin .. Its still working .. had to change this on all my stores.
