zc_install and Admin change before or after?

I am now using xampp as a virtual host while I build my zen carts.
Could someone please tell me if I need to delete the zc_install folder and change the Admin name before I upload to the actual live server or not.
If I do these things will it interfere with the installation or should they be done imediately after uploading?

As long as you're not broadcasting to the world and don't mind the constant nag, go for it.
If the world can get to it, they WILL mess with you.

I am not sure what you mean.
Should i change the admin name but keep the zc_install folder until uploading as it does need it to upload doesnt it?

If you are running xampp where no one else can get to it (virtual host), you do not need to change any directory names or change any permissions for configure files.

If you are running xampp that is accessible from another computer, you should take all required steps to secure the site.

I am using it as a virtual host only. However i wasnt sure if to delete the zc_install after uploading to the host. Also if I change the admin name and alter the confi/configuration files it should upload ok - shouldnt it?

Think I finally got the correct glasses to see what you are wanting to do.

when you rename the admin, you need to also change the configure files.

you will still need to modify the configure files after moving them to a different server.

check out the wiki for instructions to move to a new server. And, yes, deleting the zc_install and renaming the admin will leave only minor changes to the configure files when you move to a different server.

You can also just rename zc_install folder, might be needed later,
rather than deleting it
i.e. zc_install_DISABLEIT
