Thanks a lot Ajeh!! This worked when SEO is disabled... is there a workaround to make this work with SEO enabled.

    Greatly appreciate your support

Afraid I don't know a solution for that as I do not use any of the SEO/rewrites ... I just know that when something breaks ... turn it off to fix it ...

If you are using SEO/rewrites ... turn them off ... does it work?

Switch to the Classic Template ... does it work?

    What version Zen Cart?

What Add Ons are you using?

Has this ever worked for you?

sorry it was working it was just me not knowing how to use the attributes correctly, I was using radio buttons and didn't no you had to create one that was already selected and have it as display only, when i don't this it worked fine.

question now is can it be done without having a radio button being selected??

I have it set up for size

    s / m / l / xl

but for it to be required i have to add another radio button saying

    please select size

this is a radio button that is selected, but i think it doesn't look right with this here. can it be done without having this???

    please let me know thanks

That is the only way ...

Have an extra Radio Button set as:
    Default YES
    Display Only YES
    Sort Order 0

You can use any wording for it that you want that might work better for you on your products ...

    Please select a size
    What fits best?
    Pick One
    etc. etc. etc.

You will need to expand on "exactly" what problem you are having ...

    What version of Zen Cart?

    Clean Install or an Upgrade?

    What Add Ons?

I am not sure if you are saying you have a Product with a TEXT attribute that is required but that the setting on the Attribute to make it required is not work ... or you are not getting it to work when you have other Attributes ...

Have you an URL to the Product with the problem?
