Default Allow Customers to Enter Price?

I'm working on a website that offers ebooks and other stuff that needs a fixed price. I was wondering how I could make it so specific items have a base price (shipping) and an optional text box where the customers can enter their own price (donation, basically). I could obviously just put a paypal donation link, but I would prefer to allow people to just enter a donation that would be added to that products price.

    Zen Cart 1.3.7, PHP 4
I'm using Google Checkout Primarily (and check/money as a second option), I'm not sure about the version number though.

    Thanks

You could add it as a set of attributes to the products you want this offered for and call it what you want

If a customer is only going to buy one of a particular item, you can set the price to $1.00 or whatever and let them order as many as they want to donate. Rework the text to indicate that they are entering a donation amount instead of a product quantity.

An alternative would be to have the donation be an attribute, with a number of levels in a dropdown or radiobuttons, and the product's price set by attribute. You would want to include an option value of "Please select a donation level" or some such, and make it Default and Display Only in Attributes Controller - this forces them to make a conscious choice. Then they could order multiple cups or hats etc. at a donation each that they set.

Thanks for the help! The attributes was exactly what I was looking for. It worked perfectly.
