Help with discount

I would like to create a discount or group buy that applies to a single particular item. I have the item alone in its own category. The issue is that I would like the coupon to apply as any times as the qty of the item.
For example, if they order 1 widget, they get the $5 discount.
If they order 4 widgets, they would get 4x$5=20 discount.

Can this be done?

Yep, the % discount seems like the right answer. However, I realized it will not work for my situation. The issue is that my widget has options. And the options increase the price, yet, I only want the %discount to apply to the widget's price, not the widget + options price.

Great thought. Unfortunately, when I marked each of the options:

Apply Discounts Used by Product Special/Sale: NO

And then tested it, it still took the % off the option items as well. Which makes me wonder what this attribute setting actual does.

Attributes are radio button choices. Customer is forced to select one.

Sorry, my bad ... I thought you had switched to just the Discount Prices in the Price Manager ... what you are trying to do is not built into Zen Cart, at this time ...
