Default 100% CPU under High Load

I have a customer who has just moved to us from another provider due to their server crashing when they reach around 300 concurrent users. After setting their site up on our servers, they have 2 dedicated, one for MYSQL and one for IIS. However the site is displaying the same problems, when we simulate the load the CPU again maxes out.

The process causing the problem is PHP.exe, I originally set the server up using ISAPI but have since moved to fastCGI which improved things slightly.

I even tried load testing on the admin site and this displayed the same problem. However, other basic PHP is ok, including some that runs simple queries on the DB server.

I can even max the site out by holding down the F5 key!!

Any ideas ? I'm really stuck with this one!!

    Thanks

    Mr B

    - what version of Zen Cart?
    - what addons/contributions have been installed vs the stock core code?
    - how many categories in the database?
    - how many products?
    - how many attributes?
    - how many sales are active?
    - where can this be seen in action?

    Version: Zen Cart 1.3.7
as I simply ported the site for the customer I'm not aware of any addons, is there any way to tell ?
    36 rows in Categorie table
    966 rows in products table
5450 rows in the products_attributes table

How many Sales are active ? Not sure what you mean here, but it's a test site so there are no sales active.

    site is available @ http://82.71.141.33

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Merlin,

It does yeah, until 300 users hit it.... then boom!! We'll be going live with the new servers next week, so I'll know for sure then. However our load testing does indicate that under the load of around 300 users it will die so any ideas would really help!
