Did you install the most recent PayPal patch from the thread I posted a link to above? The most recent at this time is the June 17 version, which includes all prior fixes from that thread.

OK, I installed it this morning. The PayPal notification started to work!!! The cart notification stopped to work. Just before the upgrade it was the other way around...

Oops, found out that in applying the patch I missed one file ipn_main_handler; now it works!
