Any newer UPSXML than 2005?

Yes, this is my first post here....but I have been looking for more recent info, just can't find it. I'm sure it exists, so please post a link to more current data if it's out there.

My problem - The UPS module that is stock with the ZC does not give me enough control / info. I am having problems getting the UPSXML contribution (last updated 2005 as far as I can tell) working properly. First on my dev machine, which is xamp on win xp, I could not get the xml to login correctly to the ups servers (or so it would appear). The logging/debugging is not really helpful on this (probably b/c it's a win box), so I am now trying to get it running on the future live server (idchost / a linux or unix server for native php services, etc). I'm having some newbie issues getting the store set up, but mostly I don't want to spend so much time on this to find out that there is a newer, more stable ups xml solution.

To answer some anticipated questions, yes I have my UPS developers key, I have my XML Access key, etc, and I have confirmed that my access key is "bolted" to basically all of the xml / html services (including negotiated rates). I have browsed the UPS documentation for XML rates & services, time in transit, etc...
I have to admit, I am totally new to xml though, and I think there is a simple fix...but again, I hoping to find a newer (perhaps more compliant) version of the UPS xml contribution.

Hi Ken,

Just as a follow-up to this post, I'm adding a link to your other discussion post which reveals that the problem was due to CURL support not working on your local webserver setup.

CURL can be added to a test server's php/apache configuration by installing the appropriate DLLs as documented on the CURL website: http://curl.haxx.se/
Unique configuration steps for your own webserver setup will vary. In the case of xamp, i believe there is information on the xamp website also.

Most commercial/hosted webservers already have CURL support activated ... which explains why you are able to use the module fine on the live site.

I'm not sure it was the curl, ( it was turned on on my home box, set in apache I think...) but none the less, I'm glad it's working now.

I'm just now getting my feet wet with XML, but so far, I like it. We'll see how it goes implementing the shipping services from UPS (to print labels in batch form from admin console) Wish me luck :)
