Changed to SSL only, cart no longer works.

Hi,
I've been running my cart for some time and redirecting users to https when they go to my cart part of my site. Recently I decided to run all of the site on https, so I changed my apache
RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ https://www.mysite.co.uk/$1 [R,NC]

The store works as per normal, users can log in etc. However, when I add things to my cart it loads to the cart page and says my cart is empty. This only started happenign on the change to SSL. Any thoughts?

I'm not quite following you, what do you mean normal? Do you mean no SSL for the cart? Surely the cart can work under SSL? I want my wholle site to work under SSL and I was under the understanding that Zen Cart could operate in this mode, are you saying it can't?

You don't need to have the whole site under SSL. It is meant to switch back and forth automatically based on the page that is being viewed/used.

you also DONT need to have the redirect to https

you can loook in the Zen cart config files and set SSL to TRUE and the parts that need to be secure will be

Hi,
I use HTTP_AUTH for the cart section of my site. Therefore, if a person logs in on the http they then have to login again on the https. I was hoping to be able to make it so that people only had to log in under HTTP_AUTH once. Logging in twice was confusing the users. Why won't Zen Cart work completely under https?

zen cart has its own ssl,

I see your point, however this is a wholesale site and I only want wholesale customers to see the cart.

then male the shop require login befor they can even browse,

this is done in the admin -> configuration -> customers

set this Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices to 2


this will make it so that they have to login to browse anything

and keeps everything down to 1 login
