a time bomb virus in ZENCART - pretty cool
i think that there is a call home function with problems to connect.
If i install same script on a local system without internet access - i'm able to login ... funny

Same here cannot login. www.aromaegusto.co.uk The shop is fine but the admin stops when I put the right user and pass if I put the wrong user or pass it tells me and sends a new pass.
Is it hack or what?

Well, just been checking customer Zen Cart sites and I can Login just fine - so there's no "time bomb" out there.
There are various posts here from people using different versions of Zen Cart, on different servers in different locations, presumably with different hosts (but not necessarily so - that may be interesting to find out for certain)
Hands up everyone whose hosts provide PHP and MySQL 5 !
Now hands up all of those who have been told by some "tech support" call centre person, reading from a crib screen, that they haven't updated anything today!
If you've got your hand in the air then get back to Tech Support and insist upon talking to someone who knows what they are talking about.
The last time I saw something like this was when a major hosting company 'upgraded' to a development version of PHP 5. No one in their right mind would put a development version into production - but they did.
Vger
OK Folks...
I contacted my hosting company (Loose Foot Hosting).
I asked my second tier support person to attempt a log in to the admin area and put a trace on it.
SUMMARY:
All was well with the php login handler. However, it will not accept the password. (Also, I have a similar login handler for some asp applications. It works fine).
He supports the premise that it is an internal issue with ZEN-CART.
thanks folks,
jund
BOTH HANDS ARE UP!!!!!!
Logging into the shop isnt the problem... logging into ADMIN is...
BUT
I am now in my admin in Firefox but not in IE7 it is taking between 3 and 5 minutes with no server timeout..... and every time I select a different catagory i.e. customer / orders / etc the waiting time is the same....
OK... my hosting company is hosting my site as follows:
SERVER: IIS 6.0 Windows
PHP is version 5.3.2
MYSQL is version 5.0.22
ZEN-CART 1.3.7
Also, the problem is NOT related to logging in to the customer area - it is a problem logging into admin. Let's not dis our second level folks - please... some are very competent and are there to serve us (no pun inteneded).
On another note - I had just installed and configured the latest version of Google...
