help question Please help: (Fantastico) 1.3.7 to 1.3.7.1 upgrade message

    Hello,
Maybe some of you guys could give me more insight, it seems I can't find answer directly from Fantastico (netenberg dot com).

Note: I'm quit new to the CPanel/Fantastico UI, doing previous upgrades the old, 'hard' way.

When attempting to upgrade (in cPanel/Fantastico) from 1.3.7 to 1.3.7.1 I see the following message:

    "Click on Upgrade only if
no files, languages, themes have been modified
you haven't added mods to this installation of Zen Cart
Info: Your current installation will be backed up.
Click on Upgrade in order to proceed."

What if I have mods installed, changed a theme, etc.? There seems to be no additional info how to proceed.
    Please help/advise,
    Thanks
    Best,

I rather doubt Fantastico can handle a situation with mods...

Then you need to do a standard upgrade.
ALL upgrades should be done manually anyway.

There is documentation on doing upgrades in your /docs folder.

You can obtain the latest version of Zen Cart code by clicking on the "downloads" link at the top of this page and then the Download Now link, or from the sourceforge button at the bottom of this page.

The /docs folder of the new version contains updated documentation.

You'll also find upgrade tips in the tutorials/FAQ area.

You'll also find discussions about upgrading issues in the Upgrading section of the forum. If you have specific problems after doing a backup, and reading and trying the documented instructions, post back to the forum with details about the problems you're facing.

help question Re: Please help: (Fantastico) 1.3.7 to 1.3.7.1 upgrade message

    Thanks -
The main reason why I'm asking is that I will be responsible for overseeing several zen cart installations/maintenance done via Fantastico, so the more I know... you know...
Now, the cPanel/Fantastico says, if you install script(s) using Fanstastico, you should do all your updates the same way.

Did anyone tried it already (upgrade ZC via F) and what is the verdict? Thanks a lot,
    Best,

I used Fantastico to install ZC originally and then came to the website/forum for more information about ZC. I immediately discovered that the version I had installed was outdated, so I deleted the installation and started over with the latest ZC download (which was 1.2.something at the time). I've never used Fantastico to do upgrades. I find it cleaner to do it manually.
