    Default Adding advertising to site

    As a scrapbooking suppliers we can sign up to sites that allow us to advertise with them. In order to do this I have to add this piece of code to my site.

    <a href="http://www.bestscrapbookingsites.com/">
    <img src="http://www.bestscrapbookingsites.com/button.php?u=pinkpolkadots" alt="Best Scrapbooking Sites.com" border="0" />
    </a>

    However, my zen cart has been set up by UKdomains and I have limited access. I have pasted the code into the define pages section on my main page and the logo displays fine. However, on the actual web site it just shows the code. Can anyone help because UKdomains don't care!!!!

    Thanks in advance for your help, where would I be without you lot!

    I don't have access to any of the 'background' coding etc. All I can do is the admin side of things from the user side. I can only add code etc into the define pages section. If I need to change anything to do with the customisation etc of my site I have to get them to do them and they are not very co-operative. Does that make more sense - hope so!

    If you are paying for a domain and you have no access to your own domain to manage your files and database ... what is the point?

    I would seriously consider looking for a real hosting site so you can manage your own domain properly ...

    Peek at our Hosting link at the top of your screen for Hosting sites that know what they are doing with php and MySQL and have been Certified as capable of providing you with what you need to run an e-commerce solution properly ...

    Does UKdomains not allow you to use FTP to transfer files to & from your site? If they don't, you will never be able to use it properly.
    If they do, you can edit files on your own pc and FTP them back to your site - the recommended practice in any case. They should tell you the FTP port, username and password to get FTP access.

    I had the exact same problem, and I didn't know about all the stuff in the beginning so I payed hosting for 5 years in advance.

    Now, almost 2 years down the line, I finally have limited FTP access, I cannot set permissions or anything, but at least I can upload files. I'm still strugling to get access to my control panel.

    But I said to myself, if they ain't sorting it out within the next month, I' going to move my domain, but the problem is its registered in their name, also one of the down sides of not having the knowledge, like I was supposed to.

    Contact the registrar to get this corrected into your name ...

    Might take a couple three phone calls but you should be able to get this straightened out ...

    "11 years of serving the internet" and that's how they treat their customers? WOW.

    It's really difficult to imagine any companies doing business this way and still getting customers... @_@

    I hope you didn't pay too much in advance and that you can leave them asap ! Good luck !
