Nevermind...I figured it out. But I am having trouble changing the color of the boxes. Do you know where I can change teh default green boxes to another color?
    Thanks,
    Theresa

I hope you're using the template override system. If you make changes to the template_default or classic folders, all your changes will be lost with the next upgrade/update.

A lot of the colors are controlled by the stylesheet.

You can see some of the free templates available for Zen Cart at http://(sorry, site offline)/

I'm not sure if I'm using the template override system. I'm totally new to this and am trying to figure it out on my own but I feel so lost. How can I check to see if I'm using the override system? Thanks for any help.

    Hi again,
Thank you for the link to the templates. I have found one that I would like to use instead of the green one I have now. Will I lose all of the products I uploaded if I switch to a new template?
    Thanks,
    Theresa

The products won't be effected by the template change. You will lose your sidebox settings, but all you have to do is go into admin->tools->layout boxes controller and hit the reset button at the bottom.

To install the template, follow the directions in the "read me" file and then go to admin->tools->template selection and select the template from the pulldown menu.

It's normal to feel lost when starting out with Zen Cart but the day will come when you'll wonder why you thought it was so difficult.

Default UH-OHHH---In need of some major help here..

Okay... I think I really screwed something up here...I downloaded the zip file for the template I wanted to my local computer, extracted, and then I transferred the contents of the includes folder for my new template using my FTP. I saw the selection for the new template I wanted under the Tools--Template selection after I transferred the files, but when I selected it and rechecked my site....I saw PURE WHITE EVERYWHERE!!! So then I downloaded Zen Cart onto my local computer again, extracted the files, and uplaoded the includes folder for Zen Cart onto my server to replace the old one (in hopes that it would fix things because I wasn't really sure what I messed up). Then I tried transferring the contenets of the template I wanted once again (the one I tried earlier) using my FTP. Now, I have 3 selections in the dropdown menu for templates under the tools section. Two for purpleshades (the one I wanted) and one for the Green contemporary. The problem now is that one of the templates listed as purpleshades really isn't the purple shades template when I select it and then go check my site (it's some other template instead)....and the other purpleshades looks like the one I want...but all of the categories on the left are missing and the page is rearranged. The green contemporary one looks like it did before (with all of the categories listed on the left and everything) but I'd rather use the purple shades. What in the world have I done??!!

Let's see a link to your site.

Probably best now to delete all the purpleshades folders in your templates folder (and in languages/english) and start again with just the 'classic'.

Make sure that one works OK, then upload purpleshades again. Sounds like you had a corrupted file the first time.
