Default how to support a payment for something that is not a product on our site?

Does anyone know of a way to setup a page to add generic payments to the cart?

I have searched the forum and not found anything related to this question of supporting variable non-specific payments.

I'm porting a ClickCartPro site (http://classygroundcovers.com) to ZC (http://classygroundcovers.com/cart/) and have not found any way to support adding non-specific payments to the cart.

There are numerous situations where we want customers to be able to pay for things that are not specific products on our site (auctions, special payments, adjustments to previous orders, etc.).

On the old site we have http://classygroundcovers.com/pay - it adds a generic item to the cart "xxx" for "$ccc" and can then be checked out with any payment methods.

One quick way ... set up a product whose price is $1.00.
Then let the customer add as many $1.00 items to their cart as they need in order to bring the price to the required amount.

ie: to pay $397.45, they would enter a quantity of 397.45 when adding the item to their cart.

How do you enable decimal quantities as allowed?

http://classygroundcovers.com/cart/i...&products_id=3 rounds up to the next decimal:

    Warning Quantity Error Adjustment
    - test - 1.5 => 2

in your product details when you enter/edit the product in the admin, you probably have the default minimum-quantity set to 1. Try 0.01

http://classygroundcovers.com/cart/i...&products_id=3 now displays "Min: 0.01 Units: 0.01" in the Add to Cart box, but still rounds up to the next whole number when putting the item in the cart.

    I have:
    Products Price (Net): 1.00
    Products Price (Gross): 1.00
    Product Qty Minimum: 0.01
    Product Qty Maximum: 0
    Product Qty Units: 0.01
    Product Qty Min/Unit Mix: Yes
