No, it's more likely a problem with the keyboard you're using when typing your email address...

That message is displayed when you fail to enter a return email address or enter an invalid one ....

What version of Zen Cart are you using?
Was this an upgrade from a prior version? Which version?
What "Email Transport" method do you have selected in Admin->Config->Email Options?

What exactly do you have listed in the "Contact Us Pulldown" field in Admin->Configuration->Email Options?

Since you have only one address for the Contact Us, make it blank ... which will cause it to use the store's main address:
Set "Contact Us" Email Dropdown List.
