Default applying salemaker discount to products priced by attribute?

hi there! i've started a 10% storewide sale, and it didn't apply to any product with sizing attributes.

my products are price by attribute, in that the price was set to $0.00 and the price was built by attribute; i did this so customers would see the actual price in the attribute field, rather than having to do arithmetic.

from another thread, i learned to set a base price for the product and turn off price by attribute, and now the sale prices to show up in the cart. i do not like this, but it helps the smallest size (sold at base price) get the sale discount.

however, it seems the cart is applying the discount to the base price only, and then adding the full, non-sale attribute value. so each size only has the discount earned by the smallest size.

i do have the attribute flag 'apply discounts used by product special/sale' set to "YES" for each attribute value.

is there any way to make a salemaker discount apply fully to attribute-priced items?

and: how do i get the attributes to behave according to the salemaker discoun t?

    thanks!

    Anybody?

This is how I experience this problem.

I have products setup using "priced by attributes" to determine the price. The product is loaded with a zero price and the FULL price is linked to each attribute (therefore displaying the actual cost per attribute rather than just plus/minus values).

When I put the product on "special" the attribute prices also correctly updates to the discounted amount. However, when using salemaker to put all products in that category on sale only the "starting from" price shows the discounted price. All the attributes still show the original price (without the discount).

I can go and add each product as a special, but since I have a high number of products in this category it would be easier to use salemaker. Any help will be highly appreciated.

For the dev team - I am sure this is a bug in the code. Please review this functionality for the next release of the software.

Check that your Sale is setup as:
    Deduction: 10.0000 Percent
    Pricerange: $0.00 to $0.00
Specials Condition: Apply SaleDeduction to Specials Price - Otherwise Apply to Price

    Linda jou doring !!

Afrikaans saying basically meaning "Linda you star!!! "

    Changing the condition setting to

"Specials Condition: Apply SaleDeduction to Specials Price - Otherwise Apply to Price"
    worked.

For those interested, you can see the results in my Sunglasses section on my website. (in sig below)

    Hello Ajeh,

I'm facing the same kind of problem with a small variation:

    1) I created a 40% sales with "Ignore SaleCondition - No sale applied when special exists"
    2) I applied this sales to 4 categories.
    3) All products part of the first category are showing the right pricing for all prices per attribute (base + increment)
    4) All the products part of the 3 other categories have the discount calculated on the base pricing only. Moreover, and for these 3 categories, no delta pricing show up in the "Total/disc" column in the "attributes controller" section.

All the products in the 4 categories have the option "apply discounts used by product Special/sale" enabled.

Do you know what I am missing ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Looks like the problem is related to the category linkage.
When I disable the linkage, the problem disapears.

I understand that it is due because of my products not being associated to the right category ID. I tried to remove the linkage, then set the right category ID and then put back the linkage, but the product reverses to the old master ID.

How can I change that ?
