Random images

I am trying to figure out how to display random images that are uploaded in my store onto a page that is outside of zen cart. I want these images to display on my home page and to be clickable. I wrote some code that will allow me to do it but in order to use the code I wrote I have to manually update the file to tell it to pull those images. I would like for it to do it automatically. any suggestions??
