Domain name directs to a product page instead of define_main_page.php

Hi.

I'm having an issue with the domain name directing to a product page instead of the home page (define_main_page.php).

My client has successfully been adding products to her inventory for the last few days, but when I typed in the domain name (mylittletackshop.com) this evening to see how she's doing, it directs to a product page (index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=299) instead of the home page (define_main_page.php).

How could this have happened and how can I fix it? The rest of the site works fine. Just the home page and "Home" links aren't working.

Any help is much appreciated!

Wow! All it took was asking for help and I figured it out.

My client had accidentally posted an item in the "TOP" level of her catalog and not in it's proper sub-category. As soon as I moved the item out of the "TOP" level, the home page shows up as it should. Odd, but at least it's fixed and I'll make sure she'd more careful about placing her products.

What caused that was placing a Product in the Top Level Category and the setting in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

Skip 1-prod Categories
Skip single-product categories
If this option is set to True, then if the customer clicks on a link to a category which only contains a single item, then Zen Cart will take them directly to that product-page, rather than present them with another link to click in order to see the product.
Default: True

You said skip the listing when only 1 product ... so it did, and went to the product _info page ...

NOTE: Categories hold Products or Categories ... never both ...

I made that change in the Configuration --> Layout Settings and put a test product in the top-level of the catalog and the home page still showed.

I am hoping you mean in a Category and not in the absolute Top of the categories ...

Products really should never use categories_id 0 ...

Categories should only hold Categories or Products and never both ...

The problem occurred after the client had placed an item in the absolute Top of the categories.

So after making the change in Configuration --> Layout Settings and placing a test item in the absolute Top of the categories, it did not have the problem.

I believe she placed the item there by accident, so with some education it shouldn't happen again.
