Default Xfering install from local to production server

    Hi,

Is it possible to set up on a local machine, then change the config files to the names of the production server then upload all files and run the sql?

I am asking because I think I will have problems with getting the permissions set properly for the config files to be written to.

    Any advise, suggestions, guidelines apreciated

Setting permissions will need to be done on the specific server you're using.
Setting permissions on windows-hosted servers can often be a pain. It's one good reason to use non-windows hosting if you don't need it for other reasons.

Thank you so much for your replies!

The organisation that I am doing this for already has a site on a windows server. I did offer them options and they choose to stay with their provider, so windows joy, here I come!

Once again, thank you for replying :-)
