Subcategories not showing up

I've created some sub categories to see what it will look like, but when I click on a category with subcategories, it shows nothing on the page. I've looked through tpl_index_categories, tpl_modules_categories_row, and even looked at the category_row module, and everything seems to be fine. I mean, I haven't done anything to any of those files, so they should be fine. Even the tpl_columnar_display is the original, so I don't know what's wrong. The only thing it shows when I click on the category is the title of the category, then blank afterwards.
