Can I Have Donate Function Wth Zen Cart?

Hi,

I am thinking to let my customer to donate or name their own price to some of my promotion products, can this be done in Zen cart?

You could make a $1.00 product and customize the product_info page for when that products_id comes up ...

Sorry, I am new to zen cart. Can u pls lead me step by step, btw can i leave the price column empty or let the customer to fill in their price?

If a Product is $1.00 and they order 125 of it then the bought $125 or donated $125 ...

If the products_id for the Product was 73 and you customized your tpl_product_info_display.php to alter how the price shows, as in not show it ... and alter how the Add to Cart shows and changed it to something like Donation Amount then it would appear differently from other products ...

If you also change the products_date_added in the database to an old date, older than your New Product Limit then it would not show in the New Products listing, sidebox or centerbox ...

If you altered the All Products to skip products_id 73 then it would not show in the All Products listing ... or altered the display to not show the price when products_id 73 appeared ...

I also have a need to provide "donationware" - in addition to my regular products I'll be offering MP3s for example and want the customer to have the option to pay or not, and if wanting to pay then have a choice - - -was thinking to price the item as $0.00 and add attributes to donate - $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, etc

would that work?

I have a similar question below so this is on topic for me - thanks for any help!
