Is there a way in Zencart to do the following?
To have products that are shipped from different locations so that their shipping rates are calculated based from their source to their destination.
Restrict the view of products based on zone, for instance, shopper can choose their zone or the cart can autodetect by IP
Ability to enable the buyer to select shipping method for products that fall within different zones, so that the buyer can pay the right shipping cost for each and also from that, know the duration the product would take. Since it makes no sense having e.g. two products from different zones, yet one can be shipped via next day but the next day option would not be applicable on the second one as it comes from another location.
Or is there a way the average shipping days can be calculated so that items are put together in one location?
Say Product A form location 1 - takes 2 days to customer's location
Product B from location 2 - takes 5 days to customer's location
Can the shipping time be defaulted to the longest delivery date?
I think it would be easier for the cutomer to see the products purchased grouped by location.
How do you integrate such an order? What have others done to sove such a problem?
As i think the closest to that is what stores do when they show products on the site as
1 - available for store pickup
2 - Home delivery (then duration specified)
which means each product's shipping option can be set plus some stores with many locations allow user to view if a product is available for that location or how long it would take to deliver for that location.
How can this functionality be applied for the situation above?
