Default PayPal IPN lost an order, echeque bug?

PayPal received a payment, but Zencart has no record of the order.
had a paypal payment go through with a zenid, but no record in "Orders" for it. Only difference seems to be that it was made using echeque, are they broken?

    Been working fine otherwise.

PS: it also says "Debug mode active" in the module title, but I don't think it is actually in debug mode.

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

Another one failed yesterday and I found a third that failed - all are eCheque and I can't find any eCheque which have worked at all. I think eCheque is has to wait for clearance so maybe zencart loses all the data because of a different status response or something.

    You said you're running v1.3.7.
You didn't indicate whether you have or have not installed the PayPal patches needed for v1.3.7.
The patches are available in this thread ... use the latest one:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56216

Additionally, if you can turn on debug logging and then after you get notice of an echeck clearing that didn't show up in Zen Cart, download the logs, zip them, upload the zip to your server, and post a link where they can be downloaded for review ... then we might be able to diagnose what's happening in your case.

In all the test setups we have here, echecks work just fine, using the latest posted patch.

I'm told that it's something to do with a setting in your Paypal account whereby you select "approve" (or something like that); if you don't set this, the Paypal will only send the order details on to you when THEY have the money.

Sorry to be a bit vague, but I wasn't fully concentrating at the time.

That 7 minute editing bracket is too short for my brain!!

However, as this works just like an ordinary cheque in terms of clearing time, you may just wish to advise customers that goods ordered with payment by echeque will not be dispatched until funds have arrived in your account.
