HELP!!!!! Customers Can't Login

I am using 1.3.9f.

I have not made any changes in about 2 weeks.

While looking at my Who's Online page, i noticed that several customers that had stuff in their cart did not check out. I was wondering why so i wanted to place a dumby order and I can't log-in to the website as a customer. When i put in my email and password it just takes me back to the login page. I don't get an error unless the password is correct. Everytime i hit login with the correct info, a duplicate record is created on the Who's Online page.

Please help!!! I'm losing money.

Nevermind! The similar thread posts below helped me out.

But, i have never changed that so what caused it? Anybody know/

The 6th post says the following:

Go to ADMIN... CONFIGURATION... SESSIONS... RECREATE SESSIONS... set this to FALSE.

Should work though I'm not sure what it does.
