Sounds like your database is missing important content.
You do have regular backups, right?
Has anybody been in phpMyAdmin recently, making changes, experimenting, etc?

While it's difficult to say whether you've been hacked or not, you'll likely need to proceed as if you *were* ... just in case.

Start with this step to verify all the files on your server:
    http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...orized_changes

If you find anything unexpected, it may suggest a hack attempt.
If it is a hack, you need to notify your hosting company. In fact, maybe talking to them *now* might be good ... just in case they already know about a server exploit.

Then do a fresh database backup (so you have a copy of "today's" state). You may need to restore from a recent backup if there is a lot of information missing.

I was on a shared database and someone decided to put up a Zencart shop. That must have overwritten my content. Anyway I am getting my own database now. Do I have to reinstall my zencart shop. or is there a config that i can change to point to the new database. I dont need the stuff in the old database

If you re-run the zc_install process and provide the new database information, a new database will be created for you to work in. It will not affect your templating changes made to php or css files. You'll need to re-select your custom template from the admin after installation is completed. You may also need to set some configuration settings in the admin according to taste.

    I have similar simpton.

I am running 1.2.6 Zen Cart, wich I spend tons of time to setup as I need, because computer illiteracy.

So, to migrate to 1.3.7 I decided to copy this Zen cart to other domain (probably on the same server) and experiment there before.

My web hosting provider kindly helped me to do it (they did everything).
    And generaly it works.

However, when I loging to admin I see message: "1054 Unknown column 'startdate' in 'field list'" below "New Customers" field.

At this point I am by my own and have no clue where to start.

    Please suggest.

    Thanks for advise in advance

I got that error message because i was sharing a database with my brother who decided to install another Zencart shop on the Database. The result was that my zencart shop database was overwritten. Therefore when i tried to log onto my shop i got that message. When installing copy of the Zencart shop on a Database that already is being used by another zencart shop it is advisable to change the table prefix when installing the second shop.

    Hope this helps
