Default 1st Credit card order - question

OK I'm in the process of setting up a shop and I received an order.

When I look in the customer admin, my new customer payed by Credit Card (Visa). My question is: How do I collect that money so I can ship the order? Where does that money go? Oh it also says order status pending.

    THANKS!

It sounds as though you have turned on the credit card module that ships with Zen Cart. This assumes that you have an account with a "merchant processor" (often a bank). You should have received an email with half the customer's credit card details and will find the other half in your Admin area (separated for security reasons). You put the two together, send them to your merchant processor and they process the transaction, collect the money credit it to your bank account.

OK I see. So what would be my next step in order to process this card? I admit, I wasn't ready for sales just yet but someone found me. And will a "pending" status expire if it waits too long?

    MANY THANKS!

I think I'm going to choose Paypal as the merch. Will I be able to still cash in on the orders? (I now have 5 pending)

    HELP and THANKS!

No. Paypal works differently to a normal merchant provider. You will need to turn that credit card module off as quickly as possible and turn Paypal on instead. Then contact the customers and ask that they resubmit their orders.

    Perfect!

So would I select Paypal Express Checkout or Paypal IPN?

I think this would be the right fit for this type of store rather then Authorize.net. Now I have a Priemier account with Paypal, will this be ok?
