I've had a disastrous time attempting to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3.7.1
First off, I attempted to backup my original database before attempting any of the upgrade steps and I also did a backup of the zencart installation directory.
Even though my control panel indicated the the database was backed up and even though I downloaded and duplicated that backup to my computer, I have discovered to my horror that the backup did not either complete or something else happened but I discovered that the backup failed for reasons I do not understand. IN any case, to compound this error, I accidentally dropped the database tables for my original database when in fact I was attempting to drop the tables for the newly installed database, into which I was going to import the old database.
Fortunately all is not a total loss because I have a backup of the database from earlier in the year and although it is somewhat out of date, I still have something to work with.
So I installed a fresh version of Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 in a test directory. I had already created a new "test" database. I tried to import my old database into the new one but as I've already stated, that did not work because of the mistakes and errors that occurred. So instead I imported the much older backup of the database which I had and was then attempting to go through the database upgrade script. But I immediately encountered an error that said
"mysql SQL Install file does not exist" I checked the directory and it does exist, so the script is not seeing it for some reason.
I checked my configure.php file and it seems to be correct but I'm no expert, so maybe something is wrong in there.
Can someone point me in the direction I should be heading here to help my figure this out?
