Default Problem: mysql SQL Install file does not exist

I've had a disastrous time attempting to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3.7.1

First off, I attempted to backup my original database before attempting any of the upgrade steps and I also did a backup of the zencart installation directory.

Even though my control panel indicated the the database was backed up and even though I downloaded and duplicated that backup to my computer, I have discovered to my horror that the backup did not either complete or something else happened but I discovered that the backup failed for reasons I do not understand. IN any case, to compound this error, I accidentally dropped the database tables for my original database when in fact I was attempting to drop the tables for the newly installed database, into which I was going to import the old database.

Fortunately all is not a total loss because I have a backup of the database from earlier in the year and although it is somewhat out of date, I still have something to work with.

So I installed a fresh version of Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 in a test directory. I had already created a new "test" database. I tried to import my old database into the new one but as I've already stated, that did not work because of the mistakes and errors that occurred. So instead I imported the much older backup of the database which I had and was then attempting to go through the database upgrade script. But I immediately encountered an error that said
"mysql SQL Install file does not exist" I checked the directory and it does exist, so the script is not seeing it for some reason.

I checked my configure.php file and it seems to be correct but I'm no expert, so maybe something is wrong in there.

Can someone point me in the direction I should be heading here to help my figure this out?

Things have only gotten worse as I bludgeon my way through this...

My webhost said they were able to restore an older backup of the database. So I deleted the old database entirely and created a new database. I then used phpmyadmin to Import the old database into the new. As soon as I attempted this I got the following error in phpmyadmin

I fear I am screwed but am hoping someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

There seems to be an error in your SQL query. The MySQL server error output below, if there is any, may also help you in diagnosing the problem

The script attempts to load the sql upgrade files from the zc_install/sql folder. It cycles through each required file based on all the checkboxes you select on the database-upgrade screen.

Try checking only one box at a time, doing each step individually. Otherwise it's very difficult to know "which" one it's having a problem with.

Also, check to be sure that all your zc_install files were uploaded and that none of them are 0-bytes in size, esp the files in zc_install/includes/classes, zc_install/includes/functions, zc_install/includes/modules/pages, zc_install/includes/templates ... ya, basically everything.

I reinstalled the zencart zip file v.1.3.7.1 and unzipped. All files appear to be in directories.

I dumped the old database tables.

I imported a database which I believe to be 1.1.4 patch 1, into the new database using phpmyadmin. I immediately got the same errors as I reported in my first post.

Dead end and not any further along.

Default Re: <solved> Problem: mysql SQL Install file does not exist

I ended up reinstalling 1.3.7.1 again and found an older backup of my database that I was finally able to upgrade based on DrByte suggestions in another thread. So although I can't specifically say what the problem was, I have gotten past this problem.
