Attributes quantity calculated by main price

Hi,

Just wondering if attributes can be set so that if 3 attributes are selected, the price will then be 3 x the price of the product, rather than using pricing by attributes.

The reason for this is that the attributes will always be the same price each. So when someone selects the attributes, they are in fact selecting 3 different products, however the cart quantity still remains as 1.

I looked through the forum and couldn't find an answer to this...

The price is based on 3 x products_price or 3 x attributes price or a combination ...

It will not know that when 3 attributes are selected to do 3 x products_price when only the product has the price ...

Any reason you cannot set the products_price to 0 and the attributes to each have a price and then the price will be X x number of attributes selected?

Or, set up each Product as a separate product rather than an attribute ...

Thanks for your reply! Originally when we set the cart up, we had a programmer make a modification so that users of the cart could get a discount based only on a specific category and all sub categories (similar to group discount, ony that it is limited to categories)

It would appear that the programmer set this up so it calculates off the main price, but now we are using attributes for the pricing, that discount calculation isn't working. I am sure for a programmer this is a simple thing to change, but unfortunately we don't use this programmer anymore as there were problems with him...
