USPS mod works but not for canada ?

I installed the USPS mod today because i get so many requests from Canada to offer this method of shipping. created an account, move to production server and everything works just fine in the US but all of the Canadian addresses i put in say

"We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)"

I called USPS to ask what could be wrong and she said it should function just fine internationally and maybe the cart I am using needs an update. anyone have any ideas ?

Make sure that your International Shipping Methods are set in this module and you can enable the debug mode and see what problem there might be and post these results here
