Upload During Checkout

Hello,

I want to use a custom upload script somewhere through out the checkout process.. What would be a good place to start? Which files would be the best option for modifying?

What things should I take into consideration in terms things I cant or can do?

What are you wanting upload, and why?
Is the data associated with a particular product in your store?
Or is it something you collect from all customers all the time regardless of what they're buying?

Basically its a shop like Cafe Press where you pick the clothing item (shirts, etc) and upload your graphic to have it printed on either front or back.

I was pushing for putting a custom upload script on the "Order Success" page, but my partner wants to put it pre check out. .

Any thoughts on what would be the smartest way to do this?

The Upload script I am using is called FileChucker and seems pretty flexible and is already running on a separate page. It features multiple uploads, status bar, text fields, folder creation and email notification.
