Individual Shipping Per Item

The per-weight shipping module can be used for this.

1. Turn on the Per-Unit (perweightunit) shipping module in Admin->Modules->Shipping

2. Now manually edit *each* product and enter the shipping cost as the product "weight".
This module uses the product-weight as the shipping rate for this product ... ie: it is no longer the weight -- it is only the shipping cost.

3. Turn off weight display everywhere, since it is no longer meaningful.
a) Admin->Catalog->Product Types->[select your product type]->Edit Layout->Show weight->false
b) Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging->Display Number of Boxes and Weight Status
c) Admin->Configuration->index listing / all listing / new listing / featured listing ... turn off the weight on these

My? is I am following everything to a tee. And it still does not work?
I read all the post about how to confiqure it. But, I am doing something wrong. Please Help

Per Unit Show up as 0 and my UPS rate increase due too the weight input on individual items.

I did everything and in this section under index listing there is nothing that talk about weight But, all the other ones do.

Per Unit perweightunit and UPS are in direct conflict with one another ...

Per Unit perweightunit uses products_weight as a value for the shipping cost ...

UPS uses the products_weight as the actual weight to get quoted on by UPS via real time rate quotes based on an order total weight ...

These cannot be used together in the same calculation or you get ... well ... you could of had a V8 ...

So how does it calculate for the other items that I dont put an amount in the weight section?

If products_weight = 0 on Per Unit perweightunit then you have no charge as there is nothing to calculate ...

quantity (products_weight) * unit rate = $total shipping
0 x $1.00 = $0.00
0 x $2.50 = $0.00
etc. etc.

NOTE: UPS and USPS will quote for .1lb as they have a minimum for a real time quote ...

Wow is there any other way then this? You see my UPS Module was calculating everything perfect I only have a couple of a certain product that requires 150 dollars shipping.

You would need to customize UPS by setting the products_weight to 0 and then specifically coding the price for these products on the assumption:

If products_weight = 0 run special calculation and add to real time quote from UPS ...

You would then need to specify that 0 weight does not mean Free Shipping or only the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping module could run when these special products are in the shopping cart by themselves ...
