Problems with FedEx

Okay,
Got my account set up and my account number.
They didnt give me a meter number and it seems that nobody there knows what one is.

Cust servie, tech support. . . none of them.

Where do I get a meter number? They say that my software should generate it for me! UHHH Yeah!

the meter number is automatically set the first time rates are pulled
I thought that was in the directions

That was my original point - FedEx is not working on either site - I'm going to chat with the client and make sure that this account number is valid. Is there a test account number to merely test the module and set it up?

thank you. no its not in the reame.
however, it does say (in admin) that if you dont have a meter number leave the default NONE and one will be generated.

Was excited to be able to offer FedEx and missed it all together.

Got it now tho.

Ok, my customer finally got back after the holiday and I was able to verify I do have the correct account number. I've got all the settings correct and removed the old meter number, but it never gets a new one as it doesn't communicate. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled and no change.

What else can I try on this?

Additional note. I've turned all other methods off and now I have no shipping coming up at all. This is really critical can someone provide a suggestion of what I can do to fix this? The site will have no shipping in the am as they only want FedEx!

Due to another issue that I was having it drew my attention to looking at my cURL configuration on my server. Several months ago I had my Unix team recompile Php for another functionality I needed for another app. In error, they did not enable cURL to include SSL support when they did the recompile. This caused errors with not only FedEx but with my credit card transactions.

After recompiling Php and restoring my cURL settings to enable SSL we are good to go and all is working perfectly!!!

I thought I would post this just in the event anyone else is having issues, this will definitely kill FedEx if cURL does not have SSL support.

I have had problems with fed ex not allowing you to select a price amount and add that into the total....maybe i am wrong about how it workshttp://www.zen-cart.com/forum/images/smilies/huh.gif
