[No plans to fix] Cannot copy text to HTMLarea

Hi,

I tried to copy formatted texts from web pages and microsoft word into HTMLarea, and found these symptoms:

1. It won't accept at all texts from microsoft words.

2. Sometimes it accepts but most of the time doesn't for texts from HTML page.

3. Upon copying the texts, I got this message from the browser: "Unpriviledged scripts cannot access Cut/Copy/Paste programatically for security reasons. Click..." I tried to follow the instruction given by Mozilla but the problem still exists.

I use Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.8 and Zen-Cart 1.3.7.

The workaround I do until now is by looking at the source code of the formatting and copy paste them using the plain text editor. Then I would do some other formatting using HTMLarea afterwards. That works well, but if there's a more direct way to achieve this I'd be glad to hear.

That's a known limitation with most web-based HTML editing tools.

For true clean content, it's best to prepare it yourself in a proper clean editor (stay AWAY from Microsoft products) and paste the clean raw HTML into the admin directly.
